SIN!!!!

....they must be, simply because they are all too amazing not to be...forget the louboutin's in the last post (not for long because I may still want them..mom...dad...oprah..any takers?) but to indulge in any of the above from Pierre Hardy would take the place of the joy of eating...sleeping...and even breathing in my life...sigh well back to reality I found the addition of the fur particularly innovative on the patent evening/rihanna must own that... shoe..very different for Pierre Hardy, they could easily be mistaken for Givenchy or Chole...or even Lanvin hmm I dont know...nonetheless I will definately leave an open spot for any of the above on that dream list of mine....oh and the mens kicks...im totally diggin!

his and hers Pierre Hardy..whats better than that!

PLEASE mommy...or daddy or Oprah?

I was most proud of this first pair of shoes...a pair of Michael Kors heels I scored this summer...at Nordstrom...love em love em recommend em to any girl like me who wants to go for "the look" and has no interest in participating in a segment of SCARRED on MTV...well they are more comfy than most flats I have!

Since we ARE on the subject of shoes...im beginning a "dream" list of one special thing I would like to take with me to Paris...and I found these cute vintage inspired Louboutin's at Barneys...C'EST MOI!!!!! I want them and I like them because they are "sensible" and I can hear my mother now asking me how many times I will wear them...and I have the defense argument prepared "but mom it is a nuetral color and the heel is not that high, I can wear it with almost anything and they have longevity in my closet because of the subdued toe!" :( but..if worst comes to worst i'll do like kanye did before he had it..close my eyes and IMAGINE :)

more "DREAM" items to come (OPRAH ARE YOU READING THIS?)

THE WOMEN...

...my summer/fall project:

Students are to develop two separate Fall/Winter Collection Croquis Groups (one for a Sportswear, one for a Businesswear (Schoolwear) Collection) that utilize two different points of concepts for each grouping. The very personal inspiration should come from a favorite historical film (15th to mid-20th century), its mood, stories, its personalities, its settings, etc. which leads the student into two different concepts targeting two different, given categories and groups.

• Select one of the two groups and execute 6-8 Finishes, hinged layout format. Separate hinged flat layout, separate mood board, separate fabric board (swatches neatly trimmed, with fabric development and samples, all trims, hardware, etc.). No cut-out figures or flats. (Students do not need to execute finishes/flats for the other croquis group).

• Extensive imagery research about the inspiration source (one research board) which will lead the student into two different collection concepts visualized in two separate concept boards, story or mood boards including 3 to 5 keywords, main and additional colorcard for each concept.

GOOD STUFF HUH... here we go!

IM REALLY excited about this...

for some reason....the WHO IS WHO BATTLE OF 2008 I didnt know the hip hop scene was big in Paris..although on the Parsons Paris website there is a J Dilla poster plastered across one of the city busses...well if you dont know who J Dilla is...Google him..anyway im also really excited about a new website I found while apt. hunting.. www.ivyparisnews.com (that is where i found this info) its a really cool who what when where and why website for the artist type crowd...so this hip hop thing is open to poppers and lockers and I am soooo tempted to register...but no no hold the applause I'll leave that to the pros and whatever I "do" well i'll leave for the four walls in my room....the battle takes place Sept 28th and providing I dont get lost on the metro...ILL BE THERE! AND PICS WILL BE POSTED! I AM SO CURIOUS!!!

The Stanton Social...

boy was it stunning...I attended a friends 21st Born Day celebration there...and it was amazing! Everything was served Tapas style and I must say the custom selected menu was vegetarian friendly ( so I was pleased)...The ambiance was so chic I would definately go back!!! We sat in the "VIP" section above the rest of the resturaunt so it was very intimate and just closed off to friends...the food was realllyy good I think my fav was the flatbread pizza...but the Red Snapper Tacos (pic included) with creamy avocado and mango salsa DARE to compete!

A little late but....

One happy client...prom 08' dress designed and constructed by moi...Call me crazy for doin a prom gown during finals especially at Parsons..but I AM CRAZY! and I did..nonetheless she looked stunning and gave much beyonce :)

Constance White....

The style director of Ebay and I met at my almer mater...Fashion Industries High School, she was there for the Adopt A Student end of the year ceremony...Adopt A Student is an excellent program that allows the students at the high school to pair up with mentors in the fashion industry. I am a graduate of the program but I am still involved..Mr JJ Thomas of Bloomingdales who is also affiliated with BRAG (The Black Retail Action Group) is one of the founding mentors along with Constance White....

The soundtrack of my...

work...im really most excited about the group Le Nubians right now check their site...http://www.lesnubians.com/ they have been around for a minute and the mellow soothing sounds help me "chill down" when I am about to heat up in my sketchbook...

BEST film....

I have ever seen :) I love this movie because there are multiple stories combined to make one collage of greatness! I saw it a few months ago around the time I started my application process for Parsons Paris...it was my way of "getting cultured" early haha! Well... it was a bit hard to follow at first because I was anticipating each story ending..without giving to much away I will just say enjoy EACH segment for what it has to offer...it will leave you wanting a part 2 3 and 4 but just take it for what it is pop some pop corn or hey..even a nice Crepe!

The search goes on....

Hey readers! As of 7/31/08 I am still looking for an apartment! I find it hard to believe myself but not to worry! things have their way of working out...there are soo many to choose from and while looking through the pictures I figured I would blog about the cool parisian styles that I have been coming across....unlike here in NY there seems to be an abundance of courtyard space in Paris...the thing is it isn't so uncommon over there, nearly all fo the apartments I have been looking at have a courtyard or even a private patio (too bad it will be too cold while I am there to use it). I am learning about the different areas of Paris, arrondissements, the areas are broken down into 20 sections....the 15th is closest to Parsons Paris so it has its perks, the 11th is one of the most trendy and popular amongst artists..im guessing it is like the williamsburg area of Paris..the 8th is like the fifth avenue of Paris Avenue des Champs-Élysées is where rent can go as high as 1.5 mil :( i will not be living in that area..but hey who knows! I am open to all of the areas because one good thing about Paris is...you can pretty much walk the entire city..anyways browse pics of a potential "flat" and let me know what you think!

Some of my work..

I hope you like it...for the most part the earliest work is at the top...at Parsons we work in Guache mostly..but I am a sketch artists at heart, so I always try to keep what I call the "skeleton" of the sketch alive...in other words I am selective with color saturation at times..right now I am experimenting with a new style of drawing for the fall project...I'll post pics of that as soon as I scan the work in so keep a look out!!!
